We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Business Development Team. We welcome applications from junior candidates willing to gain experience in this kind of position.

The Business Development Fellow/Associate will be part of the Business Development Office, which has the purpose of managing and adding value to know-how and intellectual property and supporting the scientific groups in order to generate new therapeutic/diagnostic products through mutually successful partnerships with industries and investors.

In this context, major efforts will be devoted by the Business Development Fellow to identify and assess innovation as well as projects with translational potential, and to support their development through access to third parties technologies and funding, partnerships with industry as well as generation of new ventures. The Business Development Fellow/Associate will contribute to build value propositions and create research development and business opportunities, with a particular focus on the pipeline of Fondazione Telethon Institutes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

•Contribute to scouting innovative technologies as well as projects with translational potential, evaluating their development and business potential;

•Contribute to the definition of the exploitation plan, including considerations on development steps, applicability, market and competitive landscape, prospective partners and investors;

•Support scientists in drafting development/exploitation-oriented grants;

•Prepare marketing material to promote technologies/projects with prospective industrial partners and investors, and support scientists in the interaction with them, particularly in the discussion of the non-scientific aspects of their projects;

•Contribute to the negotiation of agreements arising from marketing activities (R&D, licensing agreements, SQA) as well as IP related agreements (NDA, MTA, grant agreements, collaboration agreements);

•Collaborate with the Marketing and Communication team to communicate FT Business Development activities and impact in the life sciences field.

Requisiti

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

•Background in Life Sciences and experience in academic research (PhD preferred);

•Experience as business analyst or in BD positions for 2+ years;

•MBA would be a plus;

•Excellent command of oral and written English.

•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on complex matters;

•Strong project management skills, with ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and run multiple projects;

•Excellent communication skills with different stakeholders (scientific, business, legal, administrative profiles), with focus on informing, influencing, and relationship building;

•Ability to build effective relationships with scientists as well as industrial partners, with a focus on bridging the gap between scientific and business communities.
