The aim of the call is to improve the quality of life of people affected by muscular dystrophy.
By the will of UILDM (Italian Union for the Fight against Muscular Dystrophy), the focus of the Telethon-UILDM clinical call is the Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophies and limb girdle muscular dystrophies.
The topics accepted will cover studies on natural history, cardiological management and identification of modifier genes and biomarkers for these dystrophies. The dual objective is to facilitate the implementation of clinical trials and to improve the quality of life of people with muscular dystrophy.
In particular, multicentre proposals involving young clinicians to foster their professional growth and leadership in clinical research are solicited.
Extension of the call deadline
The deadline for submitting proposals to the Telethon-UILDM Call has been extended to April 14, 2021, 1.00 pm.
This choice derives from the recognition of the persistence of the criticalities of clinical activity due to the Sars-CoV2 epidemic, and of their impact on research initiatives, and is aimed at supporting clinical researchers interested in participating in the Call by allowing additional time for submission of research proposals. The extension of the duration is to be considered definitive and will not be extended further.
The new deadline for submitting applications for funding is only granted to researchers who, on March 30 (initial deadline of the Call), have activated the registration of their application on the TeTra portal at https://projects.telethon.it, by inserting the title, the abstract and, in the case of a multicentre project, the number of participating centers and the names of the Partners. Proposals entered after March 30, or lacking the requested information at that date, will not be taken into consideration.
It is emphasized that this measure refers exclusively to this call as it is strictly reserved for clinical studies and is not to be considered extended to other types of Foundation’s calls.
